Vandaag werd in Wenen het International Industrial Biotechnology Network (IIBN) gelanceerd. Dat gebeurde tijdens een symposium van de Industrial Development Organization van de VN (UNIDO), dat mee werd georganiseerd door de UGent. Het netwerk zal de toegang tot en de ontwikkeling van biotechnologie faciliteren. Nobelprijslaureaten Richard Roberts en Werner Arber waren bij de lancering aanwezig. read more
Gimv announces today the successful final closing of the Gimv-XL fund at EUR 609 million. The fund started business in January 2009 with EUR 500 million. Of this Gimv contributed EUR 250 million as initiator and sponsor and VPM the other EUR 250 million as co-sponsor. Additionally Gimv-XL was able to attract new institutional investors contributing another EUR 109 million. Gimv-XL is now the largest initiative of its kind in Belgium. read more

De recente eerste oogst van genetisch gewijzigde populieren van het Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie (VIB) zal in een Vlaams-Nederlandse proefinstallatie worden omgezet naar bio-ethanol. read more
